Alex Broadhurst is an artist and designer based in San Francisco, California. His paintings are joyful abstractions that explore the interplay of color and geometric form, often playing with visual tension, rhythm, and balance. Each piece is hand-painted to evoke the crisp, deliberate quality of printmaking.
Drawing on a background in modernist graphic design, Alex’s work is influenced by 20th-century designers such as Max Bill, Paul Rand, and Wim Crouwel. This lineage informs both the visual language and structural clarity of his compositions.
Originally from the UK, Alex studied design at the University of Leeds before beginning his career in London, where his work was recognized by organizations including D&AD, The Design Museum, Creative Review, and the International Society of Typographic Designers.
He relocated to California in 2013 and is currently a Creative Director at Apple. He lives and paints in San Francisco with his wife and daughters.
